My Hope is in You

Today, I pray. Today, I lift up a precious family to my Lord and ask Him to deliver them. I’ve never met the Schuhmachers, but they are friends. This online world has changed my life, mostly through a new network of friends, most who share a common bond of diabetes. But diabetes is the thing that brought us together, not the thing that will keep is together. We have formed relationships and bonds that will endure over time.

The Schuhmacher family is amazing and incredibly resilient. Ryan and Meri have four sons, three with type 1 diabetes. Now, Ryan has been diagnosed with a metastatic cancer. They have persevered though more than most of us would have been able to — all while holding strong to their faith in the good Lord. Their faith is strong and has not wavered, and now they need us. They need support — financially and spiritually. If you are able, please consider giving to financially support this family. More importantly, please pray for them. Meri has added personal notes to the family’s Facebook page, created by friends.

Today, family and friends are praying across the country for this family and for healing for Ryan. I ask you to do the same. And continue to pray for this family throughout the journey ahead. We are capable of nothing, but God is capable of everything. Apart from Him, we can do nothing. But with Him, ALL things are possible.

This past week, God answered two of my biggest and most pressing prayers. I have complete faith He will answer this one, too. Thank you for reading, and thank you for lifting the Schuhmachers up in prayer today and throughout the coming months.

“My hope is in You, Lord, all the day long. I won’t be shaken by drought or storm. My hope is in You, Lord, all the day long. I won’t be shaken by drought or storm. The peace that passes understanding is my song. And I sing, my hope is in You, Lord. I will wait on You, You are my refuge, I will wait on You.”
