Diabetes research in my own back yard

Last September, I switched career tracks and joined the team at HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology. About 75 percent of HudsonAlpha’s research is in human health, including type 1 and type 2 diabetes. I’m incredibly blessed and proud to work for a company doing research on so many diseases and illnesses. This past year, our annual benefit served as a fundraiser for diabetes research done at the institute. As a type 1 diabetic employee, I was able to help with the video below as well as the featured Biotech Basics article in the spring newsletter. Even though my part of this puzzle is small, I’m thankful to be in this environment and play a supporting role in the future of medicine and healthcare. I’m incredibly honored to be in this place working alongside some of the nation’s most talented researchers. I love sharing current news about HudsonAlpha, so if you’d like to know more, please reach out. And if you live in the area, feel free to come by and say hello.

The featured Biotech Basics article on diabetes can be found on pages 4-5. Dr. Neil Lamb is one of the most talented men I’ve met, and it was an honor to work with him in writing this article on diabetes. Click the image below to read a pdf version of the newsletter and article.
