I love the Summer. My favorite season is Autumn, but a close second is Summer. I love sunshine and warm weather. I love linen pants and windows rolled down. I love bright blue skies and fresh green grass. I love concerts outside and bike rides across town. I love sunshine by the pool and cold beer on the patio.
I love playing outside with my dogs and wearing sundresses to work. I love flip flops and tank tops, painted toes and a sunburnt nose. I love going to minor league games and sitting on porches. I even love Southern humidity because it makes air-conditioned rooms so much better! I love boats and jet skis, surf and turf. Seriously, I love Summer!

Today marks the first day of summer, and the longest day of the year! Late sunsets are another summertime favorite. Enjoy today and all it brings! And enjoy this poem, borrowed from an email I received earlier today.
Summer’s Golden Days
Summer spills her golden days
Upon the earth in lush displays.
She softly sways the apple trees
As songbirds sing sweet melodies.
Summer wears a flower flock
Of goldenrod and hollyhock.
She spreads her magic uncontrolled
In blankets colored bright and bold.
Summer sings her lullabies
To buzzing bees and butterflies.
Silver moonbeams light the night;
I see a falling star in flight.
God sends the Summer scenery, T
he birds, the bees, the greenery.
His tranquil nights and sun-filled days
He sends in summertime displays.
