If I raise roughly $40 a day between now and Oct. 20, I will surpass my goal of raising $4,000 to help find a cure for type 1 diabetes. Between pledges and donations yet tabulated, I’m about $700 short of reaching my goal. That number is completely attainable, especially since some of my riding friends have raised significantly more. (One friend is closing in on $30,000 for research! How amazing is that?!) So what do you say? Will you help me spread the word?

I know money is tight for many people, but for most of you, $40 is doable. And for others, $5 or $10 will work beautifully. The equation doesn’t matter, only what comes after the equal sign. I don’t care if it works best to have 40 $1 donations, eight $5 donations or four $10 donations.
I’m starting by donating another $40 toward my own ride. I’m putting my money where my mouth is to show I believe in myself. It demonstrates my own determination to complete this 105-mile journey for the cause of type 1 diabetes research and awareness. You know you want to help! So who is next?
