Last week, I announced a new campaign to raise $40 a day for 14 days. The fundraising drive will end the day I leave for Death Valley, Calif. If I successfully raise $40 a day for 14 days, then I will meet my fundraising goal of $4,000 for type 1 diabetes research. And folks, you have not let me down! Each time I see another donation, and I am elated.
I am blessed, I am humbled and I am overjoyed! Some of you crazy kids even supported me twice! You’re blowing me away daily!
Today marks the 7-day mark, and I am excited to see what next week holds! Each day, I’ve given shout-outs to my supporters through Facebook and Twitter, and honestly — I’ve even seen a few extra donations! I am so in awe of the friends God’s placed in my life. I am one lucky lady!
Keep it up, friends! Not only will you help me reach my goal after nine months of training, but you’ll be helping find a cure for type 1 diabetes. It’s not just about me anymore — it’s about you, too!
