A friend supported my JDRF Ride last week and encouraged me with this verse:

What a beautiful reminder that what we do is not in vain or without merit. I talk a lot about strength when I write about cycling, but it’s not my own strength. It’s what I’ve been given, and it’s for His glory. My job is to get out of the way and let Him use my life and my story.
Diabetes is hard, and life is hard. Some days, we all want to give up or stop trying so hard. Those moments come steadily for me when I don’t see results from my labor. But keep going and keep pressing toward whatever it is you’re invested in. It’s not in vain, I promise. He promises.
I didn’t start out riding 77 miles or trying to climb mountains. The first time I ever rode, I made it three miles and really thought I’d accomplished something major. And I had. I started. After three years of work, I can begin to climb a new mountain and I can finish a 7-hour ride. The same applies to life in general. Keep going. Keep moving. Keep working. Sometimes it’s long and laborious. Sometimes it hurts. Sometimes, we don’t see the results or the instant gratification. But just keep going.
