Autumn is my favorite season of the year. I love every single thing about it. I love that it brings football season because that brings friends and fellowship and lots of orange and blue. I love that the weather begins to cool and temperatures are perfect for shorts and sweatshirts. I love the colors autumn brings with warm hues of browns, yellows, oranges and reds. I love lazy afternoons spent in a porch swing with a good book as leaves fall around me. I love blooming cotton fields and crisp winds blowing through the trees.
Ah, fall. It’s almost here. I saw my first blooms of cotton a couple of weeks ago, and I’ve started pulling out old sweatshirts to wear on evening walks around my neighborhood. The weather is perfect for backyard barbecues and hanging out in hammocks. By far, autumn is the best season of the year and it’s nearly here.
To me, the perfect day includes being outdoors with a cool breeze, appreciating the smells and the sights of fall.
