I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints.
Ephesians 1:17-18
I’ve been called to a life of missions. I don’t know exactly how it looks just yet, but I know I will spend the rest of my life serving Him. As Christians, we are all called to a life of missions. Later this year, I’ll be traveling to help a ministry far beyond the walls of my comfortable world in Alabama and Tennessee. The verses above are my prayer for the trip. I’m so anxious to be in that place, but I recognize paths need to be laid first. God is working there, and He is working here preparing both for the trip to come.
My heart is overwhelmed with love for this ministry and these people. For months, they’ve been praying for me and this trip, and I’d love to invite you to join in on that prayer. I’m stretching and growing in faith far more than I ever thought possible, and I love it. Will you remember me each day as you talk with God?
Please pray for deep roots in Him, roots that will withstand every storm. Pray that I’ll have faithfulness to His call and will, even when it seems too big or even impossible. Pray for wisdom and discernment. I am a relational person and love talking to people (even strangers), and for the first time in my life, I’ll be in a place where I can’t openly share Jesus Christ. Please pray for my ability to be still and quiet when I need to be. (Because let’s be honest, those aren’t two adjectives often used to describe me.) Pray for my heart to stretch beyond what’s possible and pray that God completely breaks my heart for these children and their families. Pray for the road that’s being laid now in this place. Pray for hearts to be softened and open to hearing His word. Pray that people will respond to God’s mercy and grace. Pray that lives will be changed in glorious ways.
I wish I could share all the ways God is moving, but know that His hand is all over this trip and it has been since the beginning. I am swept away by how He has moved. Thank you for being part of this journey with me.
If you feel led to contribute financially, you can mail a check to my church. The address is Asbury UMC, Missions Department, 980 Hughes Road, Madison, AL 35758. Please be sure to include “Trip #95662” on your check.
Victoria, this may sound a little strange; but in times of uncertainty, it’s often helpful to rest in the comfort of our faith. Even when that faith is calling us forward and calling on us to make a difference. There is peace in knowing God. I wish you success on your trip. And peace.
