I’m a child of God, a daughter of the King.

Someone (I believe a supermodel) once said, “Nothing tastes as good as being skinny feels.” I’ve been skinny and that sentence is simply not true.

I believe people need to eat more meals around the table together. Maybe it’s why I love cooking so very much. It’s a beautiful and delicious way to bring people together.

Talking is underrated and as much as I love social media, it’s overrated.

I have so many favorite things, it’s difficult to list them all….

Music while hiking in the sunshine. Bare feet in the grass with only the wind in your ears. Cooking alone in the kitchen to your favorite song and a glass of wine. Leaning back into a hammock with a good book in hand. Nestled in the corner of an oversized chair in sweats with a dog at your feet and a fire across the room. Early mornings when everyone is still sleeping and it’s just you, the sunrise and God. A bushel of cotton in a vase as autumn draws nearer. Reaching the top of a tough incline and seeing the other side is all down hill. Riding down the road with the windows down, hair blowing and your favorite album on repeat.

Secret indulgences include Garden & Gun and Lucky Peach.

I secretly wish I could go to culinary school.

Realizing you haven’t looked at your CGM all day and when you do, you realize it’s because you’ve had perfect numbers and it’s been quiet for that very reason.

Hearing “this is delicious” after a friend taste tests a new recipe.

Drinking coffee. Almost anywhere really, but a good coffee shop especially.

Crying giant tears when you hear God speaking to your heart. Often embarrassing, but beautiful.

Watching a sleeping child who captures your entire heart each time her chest rises and falls.
