I’m going to Vermont, naturally.

JDRF hosts seven national rides. I’ve completed four, with Nashville getting doubles. This year, I’ll be participating in the Burlington, Vt., ride, and I am so very excited about it. (And I’m taking extra insulin with me because I hear they have great maple syrup up there!) As with every JDRF ride, there’s a unique set of stresses and training necessities. (Though I’m fairly certain nothing could be worse than the 27-degree ride with a head wind last November in Nashville.)

My fundraising campaign has officially started, and I’d love for you to be part of it by sharing with your friends. (And of course, through supporting research for type 1.) Throughout the month of June, I’ll be sharing #WhyIRide through the stories of friends with a connection to type 1.  You’ll see familiar faces and new faces, famous faces and everyday faces. I hope you’ll follow their journeys and share their stories.

On July 1, I’ll kick off my annual #40for14 campaign where I raise $40 a day for 14 days. When that ends, it will almost be time to head North! I’ll continue accepting donations for my ride through the end of August, however.

And it’s never too late to sign up for a JDRF Ride! Here’s a video from last year’s Nashville ride, and I’d love to see you in my neck of the woods come October!
