My bike shipped yesterday! According to FedEx, she’s hanging out in Nashville… without me. I felt sad at first because I visit Nashville quite frequently and usually my bike tags along. She’s especially fond of the neighborhoods near Opry Mills and McGavock Pike, and she loves Centennial Park. It’s a perfect, non-exhausting one-mile loop that makes her super happy. So when I realized she was in Nashville, it made me wish I were there with her. (But I found out my friend’s bike is also in Nashville, so I like to think they are traveling companions)!

Truthfully though, she’s not feeling up to par because she’s in many pieces and sleeping soundly inside of a cardboard box. As you can see above, she just got some fancy new updates and I know she’s anxious to show them off in California. I hope the bike mechanic who puts her together in California appreciates her vintage-chic style. Among other things, she got new grips, new pedals and a lucky-penny bar plug courtesy of my favorite bike mechanic ever! (Go visit him here).
No worries though. She was able to test out some of her new features before she was shipped off. She proved tougher than nails, but as is evidenced by the photo below, my knees didn’t quite show the same resolve. Someone should probably teach me how to ride a bike. 😉

The countdown is ON! Death Valley is in T-10 days! To donate toward the ride, click here. To make fun of me for falling off my bike, click here.
Holy smokes V! That looks like it hurt!
I kinda want to know how you fell… gravel? Texting and riding?
And more importantly, did you pack training wheels for Death Valley?
