This week has just been one of those weeks, so we’re resigning ourselves to bullet points. Here are the hits and the misses for this week including a few lessons learned:
- My mother didn’t kill me for this, and even said some of them made her laugh out loud.
- I got a steroid shot in my thumb and it hurt, but I rocked the post-steroid blood sugars (till two days later).
- I learned the threshold of my brother’s disgustingness extends beyond what I had earlier believed.
- I have started a countdown to see my niece and nephewsย at Thanksgiving.
- I’m trying to convince a particular friend that pride should not stand in the way of a Thanksgiving celebration.
- I spiked to 300 in the middle of the night twice this week for no clear or obvious reason.
- I realized how to forgive and pray for those who have hurt me.
- Hitting on a priest will get you nowhere. With him or Him
- I tried to wear blue makeup for blue Fridays, but failed miserably. Mostly because I don’t look like this.
- I have (mostly) narrowed down what I will be making for Thanksgiving.
- (For the aforementioned friend), that menu includes mac-n-cheese, strawberry cheesecake bites and Nutella cheesecake pumpkin muffins (I’ll share the recipe).
- When you think no one else out there understands, Google Hangout will tell you you’re wrong.
- #DevilDog didn’t get kicked out of doggy daycare this week!
- Technically, Barkley did though.
- I loved the JDRF ad that ran in the NYTimes and the Washington Post, and I enjoyed Dr. Aaron Kowalski’s explanation of it. But I completely respect the opinions of those who didn’t like it.
- I do NOT like the new JDRF logo, but I think most people do.
- Portion control is not easy when you live alone.
- I really want LSU to win tomorrow. (Beat Bama!)
- I found out I get to meet new friends like this one at Christmas and enjoy the company of old friends like this one and this one.
- Pinterest is equally addictive and fantastic.
- Sometimes, virtual hugs aren’t enough and you have to be strong enough to ask for more.
All in all, it was a good week.
This list made me smile. ๐
made me smile too! a great list! ๐
I’m with you on the JDRF logo. It looks like a transportation company. Next stop: cure land!
You list made me smile too. ๐
So if the friend won’t come to Thanksgiving, I will. Or you could just mail me some of the Nutella pumpkin cheesecake goodness. ๐
So, two things: (a) You *do* totally look like the smokey eye chick. I’ve met you, after all. And (b) can Lisa and I come over for Thanksgiving dinner? Nutella and cheesecake!? Love.
This list did not make me smile. It made me roll my eyes at you! ๐
The updated list made me laugh, but I agree with Sara on the entire eye roll thing.
